| Rob has over 30 years experience as a corporate communications writer and public relations specialist. He is responsible for: development and execution of communications media and PR initiatives which promote and support the Flushing House mission; for contact with editors and reporters to pitch stories, write and place press releases; for placement of display ads in newspapers; for production and distribution of printed media such as brochures, flyers and newsletters. He also contributes as the website writer and blogger. Rob maintains good relations with government officials and advocates for Flushing House priorities. Through his efforts, Flushing House secured $35,000 in New York State funding for a new bus, $15,000 in discretionary grants for a new computer learning center, a new CCTV which magnifies small print books and magazines, etc. He coordinates our annual fundraiser, which has raised over $150,000, and conducts other fundraising as requested. He has been on staff 12 years. |
